Default **Potential scammer**

Folks, I had posted on the Wanted section for some items. A random user PMed me - user name - Plankcool

His message:
Email Bill in Texas He has a 8th scale Motor and Futaba radiofor sale Here's his email [email protected]

I immediately know this modus operandi, seen this on other forums and having lost money in the past. I just had to play the dude and see how far he will go. He had the exact items I needed and much lower prices and said he is in Texas.. Asked for pics. He nicely edited pics from offer up, from a guy in CA with photoshop and send me. I did reverse image search and some imaging forensics to see the source was the same. Can the admins nuke the Plankcool id after verifying? He joined the forum the same day I posted.

Same here. I got scammed. I got an email from [email protected], got a text from the following number 316-531-0164, and to pay Tyrell Fanjul on paypal. The email to enter on paypal was [email protected]. I have posted a wanted item and that how that got started. Dont be fooled. Once you send the money, then you will never hear back. Reported to paypal.

This has to be a scam too- someone calling themselves Jackson Marsh PM'd today responding to my WTB post. I looked them up here on rctech- they joined just TODAY too- very suspicious (another Texas reference, too).

Copy of text:

"Contact David in Texas he as a Qty 3X 1/10 Nitro on-road cars + equipment Hereís his email [email protected]"

My radar was up as soon as I saw this.

I got two of these PM's since putting up my WTB.

Glad I decided to research before even sending an email.

Good advise. Check the date when the user joined rctech. When I went back and checked, I did notice I was messaged on the same date the user joined rctech. If someone asks to be paid through PayPal, friends and family, then stop. Itís a scam.
