Default I thought some of you folks might like this.

A buddy of mine shared this poem with me the other day.

I Am A Christian

When I say ... I am a Christian...
I am not saying, I am Saved.
I am Whispering I was Lost
That is why I chose this Way.

When I say... I am a Christian...
I dont speak of this with pride,
Im confessing that I stumble and
need someone to be my guide.

When I say... I am a Christian...
Im not trying to be strong.
Im professing that Im weak and
pray for strength to carry on.

When I say... I am a Christian...
Im not bragging of success.
Im admitting I have failed and
cannot ever pay the debt.

When I say... I am a Christian...
Im not claiming to be perfect,
my flaws are all to visible.
But God believes Im worth it.

When I say... I am a Christian...
I still feel the sting of pain.
I have my share of heartaches,
which is why I speak his name.

When I say... I am a Christian...
I do not wish to judge.
I have no authority,
I only know Im LOVED.

Sonny D

nope...I'm not sure who the author is. It's a powerful poem though.

I'm glad my buddy Shawn shared it with me. I ended up sharing with my prayer team at Church. The poem has a had a good response.

If only Christianity was portrayed like this more often

I like that. I think the "Im not perfect" part. Ive heard people say " O' and they call themselves christians" like they said they where above everyone else or where perfect. But we all make mistakes and fall short. But we ask for our fathers forgivness

Very good poem indeed, but my only qualm is - as true Christians, we should boldly claim we are saved...saved by the blood of Christ!

Why would the beginning of the poem start off with "I am not saying, I am saved."
