Default ISO New in bag wholesale-sized parts lots

I know this is a long shot, but I'm wanting to start a small hobbyshop out of my garage. I don't think at this point a distributor will really talk to me, nor am I ready to drop $3-5k on a minimum initial order.

I've been toying with the idea of starting with parts lots if I can find the right deal. I know occasionally hobby shops go under and list remaining inventory, or collectors horde parts that they sometimes regret buying. I'm not looking to start off with 10,000 parts bags.. or purchase items that are really obscure.. but stuff for Traxxas, Axial, Tamiya, HPI, etc.. I would be pretty interested in if the price is right.

If anyone out there reading this has suggestions on how to get started in retail, I'd be open to any advice as well. I don't need this to make me a living.. but I have the space, and I love the hobby and would like to see it grow more locally - so if I can help fellow hobbyists and make a couple dollars here and there - that's all I'm looking to do.
