Found out about some other vintage shells. |
Just reiterating, I want the ABC Hobby A210SS Lotus Exige.
I will buy the car too. All new in box is perfect. |
I have a lead on the ABC Lotus now. Haven't pulled the trigger.
I did manage to eBuy the Kyosho McLaren F1 minus decals and plastic parts for a non-insane price. And a buddy of mine was able to successfully procure the HPI TVR from the german seller. |
I have the mclaren f1 long tail with decals and parts - its a nice rare piece

Just scored the very-hard-to-find Active Hobby Lotus Exige with A210SS chassis for a very nice price. It's coming from an italian eBay auction, so it'll show up when it shows up.
I noticed the Cross Mercedes CLR is available, once I get enough things I wanna buy from asia, I'll get an order with the body included. I also seem to have found the clear body version of the Tamiya Ferrari F40. Once again, until I have it in hand.... Also I've added the original HPI McLaren F1 body, which seems far more scale than the somewhat squashed 200mm body released in the late 2000s. i'm still prepping that sheet btw. PM me if you need it quickly or something. |
Interesting about the original hpi McLaren F1 body looking different and you're right. The new body looks lower thru the cabin area. Probaby in an effort to make it more aerodynamic and race worthy. I have the new one and the nose is chunky too. I think they raised it up some to clear the shock tower and the result is it looks rather blunt, especially with the chopped top.

Thank you to one of our members for a great find on the HPI Mazda MX-5 Miata body.
Plan is to commemorate my MX-5 ownership with an RC long after my daily driver is sold. |
I'm now also looking actively for a Tamiya M-Four.
The plan is to use that for the Miata MX-5 body which brings me to an interesting find: Active Hobby made a suspension kit which allows 225mm wheelbase. "STR121 M - Four racing suspension kit" ??? M-4???? | ????????????????ACTIVE HOBBY STAFF BLOG. |
