Contemplating 1/5th scale, what's available
Looking for an out of the box new toy for bashing. Considering yeti xl, but when size is key I can't get past the Baja series and Losi 5ive. Any on the forums up for grabs? Baja flux could be a perfect mix too. Not really looking for $1300-1500 for a basher but I'm curious what folks have versus the auction sites. Thanks

RedCat
Try redcat, it's inexpensive and still very fun. It's really about a good Zenoah motor, good tires (proline) and some good suspension.

Here's my opinion:
As far as large scale goes, I've have had a Baja 5B, Baja 5T, and two Losi 5IVE-T's.
I would strongly suggest you just bite the bullet and get a Losi 5IVE-T. It is by far the best radio controlled land vehicle I have ever had, and I've had one of pretty much everything over the past 20 years. I've raced, bashed, etc. You name it.
I know the price is high, but it really doesn't NEED anything out of the box other than the mandatory Killer RC killswitch that I think ALL large scale gas models need. The Baja's certainly NEED a few upgrades right out of the box. By the time you upgrade a Baja, you have already paid for the Losi.
The Losi is super fun, easy to work on, reliable, and VERY durable. I swear it's every bit as durable as my 8IGHT 3.0 and 8IGHT-T 3.0.
