Default Brushless ESC/Motor combo

Anybody have, or know of any good deals on ESC/Motor combos? I have a budget of about $50 but not limited to. So name your prices! :]

Yes, $50 is a little low for a brushless system.

The Castle Sidewinder SCT combo is a good way to go. Can be found for right around $100 and the 4-pole motor is very solid. Plus you get the system NEW for $100, which means it has a 1-year warranty, and that's a big part of the value.

There's plenty of ways to do RC on a budget, but that said it can still be pretty expensive. If you are just testing the waters you might want to find a cheap brushed setup. Many vehicles are only available RTR and people pull those brushed setups out and sell them for cheap, should be able to find something for $50 or less.

AHH! Well, do I "need" the ESC? Is there a way I can get forward/reverse with just the motor, and receiver?

ahh, no. you need a speed control. As Greg said, the best deals going really are the associated sc450 esc and the reedy 3300 burushless motors that come in the stock rtr SC10. They can be found for $80 or so as a combo on ebay, and if you watch here, they come up often areound $65. I know, I've bought one!

AHH. I need something that's not too high-end, but can still give me the power I need.
