Default Wanted: TWO electric TC3 or TC4 rollers

Getting into spec racing with my little brother and need two cheap rollers, don't need all the expensive upgrades or anything just basic cars. Thanks.

How much do you want to spend, one persons idea of cheap is not the same as another.

I'll put it this way...

TC3s are old cars, the TC5 has been out for a while now. I've seen rollers go for as little as $30 but I'd like to keep each one around $50 each depending on condition and particulars.

If someone is uneasy about their offer, just PM me. Worst I'll say is "no, sorry, it won't work for me. Cheers!" and that's it.

Cheers

Good luck, I've not seen TC3's for $30 for a roller, I might buy one for that cheap, but make sure the chassis does not have stripped out mounts on it, check for bent hinge pins (another problem area). most of the time the CVD's are going to be toast..I know price does not mean a thing, you can get a POS for $75 also, but make sure you buy from a good seller..

Thanks for the heads up, I'll look for all that. Hopefully I can get us both rollers for good prices but we'll see.

No problem, just something to ask the seller to protect yourself, another "thing" is their is nothing wrong with the composite CVD's, their cheap and hold up pretty good, associated shocks are pretty easy to rebuild also, I would pay a bit more to get a good car over trying to save $20 bucks, you will save that quickly, something else to think of is a TC3 might be an older car but in the right class and the right driver the car is still fast..I would go for a TC4 over a 3 though, a FT if you can find one for cheap..the TC4 is a bit tougher than the 3, on the team car the 4 likes a softer set up than what the 3 did..I'd look local also if I were you, craigs list would be good.

Another thing to consider is that, to my mind, the threaded shocks (TC3 and 4 shocks come in three flavors, plastic, aluminum, and threaded aluminum) are worth the extra money (and those shocks alone sell for $30-ish in good shape) when setting up your car.

Yet another is the condition of bearings, etc. A decent set of bearings will run $75 on up, and a $30-50 car can very easily be beat. Silky bearings are always important, but they're CRITICAL in power-limited spec classes.

The advice re: composite dogbones, etc, is certainly valid, especially in lower-power spec classes. Don't have the "bling" factor, but definitely serviceable.

Generally speaking, I'd figureTC3's in the $75 range for a decent condition one (might even get lucky and get threaded shocks, but likely not) and I'd STILL ask a ton of questions. A question that always works for me is "If you were going to race the car in the ROAR Regionals next weekend what does the car need to be ready?"

Thanks for the help, I appreciate it. This is my first onroad car so I'm out of my usual playing field.

Yeah I saw it, a little more than I want to spend for a spec class. Thanks though
