Not sure about "GAGUE" but I think Novak has 16 gauge wire.

Right now it seems like there is no 16ga wire to be found from any "normal" source. If you find some please post up because I desperately need some.

I'm getting ready to have some wire made in bulk--it will likely be similar to the (former, apparently) Castle Creations and Deans wire which had a thinner insulation (and, thus, thinner overall diameter) than the Astroflight wire that was most recently available. The wire I've just received samples of has .016" insulation and an od of about .105". I'm mailing a piece of it to Michael O'Donnel (OD purple) today for his inspection and approval. With luck it will be available through him in a few weeks.

It amazes me when people don't Google...

Search for "16 gauge wire" and viola!?

http://www.robotcombat.com/marketplace_wire.html

Hope that helps, took all of about four seconds to find.

WS Deans make a 16ga high strand count silicone wire. It's nice stuff, much like their 12ga but just scaled down.

Yup...once a rectal cavity...always a rectal cavity.

Seen it. Have used 'em. Trying something a little different, but thanks for your effort on our behalf.

As far as the Deans wire--that's what LasagnaMarc was referring to on the battle-bots site. I know pretty much no one in RC-dom can get it, and I haven't checked with bots-R-us to see if THEY even really have it on hand currently. Two lhs's here in town (one of which is the largest mailorder heli specialist in the US) have tried to get the Deans wire...Deans will only refer them to the distributors, who don't carry that item.

Willing to spend some money to get what I want (and others) from the mfr that had been supplying some of the oe's. If it helps others, great. If not, I'll have all the wire I and my friends need for the foreseeable future.

Move on, life's too short and pointless public name calling is (imho) a stupid waste of time and energy. If you can't use the Dean's, or don't need to use the info provided... move on, always other threads to browse or things to do. There are other people invovled in and looking at the thread that may find that useful, the post was for anyone and everyone looking if they're out there. This is a hobby.. have fun with it. I wasn't making a negative comment towards any one person individually.. just a general blanket statement. It's almost spooky how much you can find with Google if you take the time to look. If you've done that and not found what you're looking for, then the only way to take my comment personally is if you're looking to do so for your own reasons. At that point, all I can do is say (again) that it wasn't meant as a slam to ANYone. If you (Scottrik) feel the need to randomly insult me for your own cheap thrills, or if you decide to take a different tack and just TALK to me about why you're still apparently upset on some level(s)... there are private ways to contact me. The first will at least give me a laugh, the second option has always been open if needed.

The site provided does let you add the wire to the cart. I did check that before I posted the link. If it turns out that they're out of it.. no harm done. If they do have it, great. If that's not what you're looking for or you can't use it, keep looking elsewhere for whatever you do want. (Yes?)

Edit: I do feel like something of an ass for even responding to the bait left above... but geez, stuff happens in life. Get a grip and move on.. it's healthier AND more fun to do that than to hold onto a silly grudge with a stranger. It IS possible for two people to have differing opinions on something, and if you're happy with your own thoughts and ideals.. shouldn't that be enough?

Quick show of hands...who here DIDN'T find Marc's original post to be condescending in the extreme wherein he was, apparently, the only person with the sense to come in out of the rain, much less consult Google when trying to locate something.

As far as perusing elsewhere...I've had direct dealing with both Bob and Bruce, and Bruce's post looked (to ignorant me) to be an invitation to share what I've learned (and had previously discussed with him) here with Bob and others who MIGHT be interested.

You're right though Marc...we bow before your excellence. Please...bestow all your great knowledge upon us as you see fit.

Utterly humbled, your obedient servant,

Scott, if Deans 16ga wire meets your needs, you can try buying it from Draganfly Innovations. They've had it in the past, I'm not sure if they have it now. Phone number is 800 979 9794. Say something like "I'm trying to buy Deans 16ga wire. Adam told me you have had it in the past. Do you have some I can buy?"

Ah yes, you're NEVER like that.

Which would be fine had you not led off with a personal attack and subsequent (seeming) rant. Hello? Duh? Leave the personal stuff out, or private... unless it's topical for some reason. Go ahead.. post again.. more negativity always helps a situation. At the very least, thanks for giving everyone a peek of what I had to deal with in the past. It's a lot of that that led to me thinking that you were trying to pull a fast one on me at the time. And for the record, you *weren't*... but it took a few days to get that confirmed as you know. Heck, should look up the date.. it's roughly a year or so and it still upsets you enough to single out my post for a cheap shot that we both know is you being bitter about the past? Way to clench.

If you must reply, I suggest you send me a PM or I won't see it - my last post (and look at) this thread.. nothing more to add to the wire issue. If you want to talk things over, the door is (and has always been) open.

Good luck everyone.

Uh...better take a look at the order of posts and the content thereof. I "led off" with exactly the information requested. That was followed by your post. A person NOT looking to show their superiority would have said something along the lines of "Hey guys--I just checked on Google and here's what I found...". But no, you took a nasty tone right off the bat. Which is has been your mien.

Dates...just looked it up...right at a year ago. No grudge--and happy to post a link here if you'd like. You come off looking pretty much like you do here...like a pompous horses ass. Was fairly unanimous among those who posted there, so I'm happy to let people here have a look-see and judge for themselves. You "dealt" with absolutely NOTHING but a polite request for information until you pretty much blew me off for making a legitimate enquiry regarding merchandise that was (albeit temporarily, and understandably once the facts were revealed) missing from my shipment.

Just a question, here's personal for you, how close (either way) to 5'6 are you? Perhaps you can help me settle a personal theory while you're here and in such a helpful mood.

I've got five bucks that says this was, by no means, his last on this subject

To sneak a little "on topic"--I mailed the wire sample off to Michael O'Donnell yesterday. With luck he'll have it tomorrow and a decision can be made. It's a couple weeks lead time for manufacture so we'd likely have wire before Christmas.

Has anyone checked whether the BattleBot Superstore or whatever they are has the wire in-stock?
