WTB: RC Rookie looking for a good basher..
 

Recently I got my 10 year old son an ECX AMP MT Kit that we built together.. I loved it so I went and bought myself a Traxxas Rustler 2WD.. I then upgraded his motor to a 12T and put 2S lipos in both of them..

I'm new to all this so don't know all the terms etc.. I do know I want something that we can use outside.. Not the indoor racing type..

Looking to spend around $200-$400 Max.

Look in to the Arrma 3s and 4s line maybe?
could always run them on 2s for less power and speed.
Arrma forums has a lot of info and support too if you wanted to read about them first

I am no expert but I've been doing something between bashing and backyard racing for while now. While I don't first-hand experience with one, I would look hard at an Arrma Typhon 3S or even the "mega" with plans to add brushless and stronger gears later. The price is low and everything I have heard/read (internet and in person) is that they are very durable. Some of the netizens seem to say that the electronics aren't great.

I think I'm set on wanting a Traxxas E-Revo 2.0 now.. Altho, I just looked at the Arrma 6S Outkast and it is similar in spec, right? Just not a big fan of the body..

as a suggestion, for something a bit different, they Kyosho FO-XX and similar cars are quite fun with the solid axles, very fast toofor what they are.
