FS: Hitec X2 Ultima Dual 200W Multi-Charger
#32
A good reason to get a higher amperage charger would be to charge faster. Keeping in mind I only run LIPO 2S batteries for dirt oval racing, all my batteries are over 5000mah, and can charge at 2C per the manufacturer.
I used to have a charger that was 5 amps per channel and it took about 40 minutes to balance charge a battery, after a 4 minute race. I bought this exact same charger and the time went to 25 minutes to balance charge.
I have a couple of 6500 mah batteries and to charge at 2C I need to be able to charge at 13 amps.
I also run a 4x4 off road class and the 4000 KV motor sucks some amps out of the battery. With the 5 amp charger it was taking over an hour to charge a battery. I was running two classes and could not keep two batteries charged some days. If the turn out was not large I might only have 30 minutes between heats. Ended up using some of my less than stellar practice batteries. This allowed me to charge quicker and not need to buy another battery.
