Angry Threads asking/telling buyers to add 3%/money to cover PayPal fees will be deleted!!

As the title says. This is simply a way for sellers to get around the rule of not asking for gift payments. Sellers, it's against PayPal rules to ask buyers to cover your fees, simply figure them into your asking price.

Awesome! As a buyer I wanna know EXACTLY what I'm paying, it's not up to me to figure out fees and shipping, that's the sellers job

Now I think I get what this PM meant from a potential buyer.

"If you will do $100 including paypal and shipped to (where ever) I'll take them"
At least that's how it reads to me. Am I wrong? Wouldn't have thought anymore about it except this thread was born.

i've had my last 2 transactions go that way. the seller will say $50 shipped for an item, and i will buy it. when they PM me their paypal address they say, $50+ Paypal fees. then i get annoyed. i just want to walk away from it but its only 3%..so i end up buying it. but its annoying to make the buyer add 3% fees

thanks Racer!!!

Don't do it!! It's only 3% right??, let THEM pay it. The seller pays fees. The end.

The fact that Paypal gets 3% is a crock! I used to be into highend audio and let me tell you the 3% adds up in hurry when your selling a piece of gear that goes for over 20K

That might be true but it's not the point of this thread.

Can't you pay with the payment owed option and if the money comes out of your linked bank account there are no fees to either party? I thought that way you are still protected as the buyer but the fees are avoided. Either way, its 3%, the seller should factor it in to their price and put the kit under the table and not sell it. Doesn't seem to hard

Including the ones that say they will post pics tonight, and usually never do.

Look, if you plan on posting pics then post them when you post your thread. Also it's gonna be real hard to sell ANYTHING without pictures, People even want pics of stuff that's NIP, if nothing else just to see that you actually have the item.

If you choose the payment owed option, the buyer ends up paying the 3% paypal charges and it's not a good option cos it shows the buyer owing the seller a payment and not a purchase payment. If the seller is dishonest, he will just accept the payment and can choose not to ship out anything. Never use payment owed or gift payment options. You're totally not protected by Paypal if the seller decides to pull a fast one...

Definitely a fair rule.... I hope that it will end all of the whining from other guys about the fees and make the site a little safer for everyone.
