Default hey everybody

My original and only goal to this thread was to get help and information towards
getting what I traded for or get my truck back and at this point all I can do is wait. Please everybody try and be patient with me. I will post as soon as I have
the items in hand. I do agree the trade has not gone well at all and circumstances may seem fishy BUT that is not the point of this thread. Let try and give the guy a break. We have all screwed up at one time or another and as long as he comes through it will be ok.

PLEASE LET THIS THREAD DIE UNTIL ITEMS SHOW UP- and I will update everyone. Thanks

I do want to thank everyone for having my back on this. I am proud to be a member of this forum!

Having followed this thread, and other similar ones, all I can say is that what the offending party in this thread has overlooked is that this "deal" that hasn't worked out as yet as negotiated is a "business deal" - and despite the claims of complications, whether they be true or not is irrelevant, it's still a business deal. And it's a business deal that was supposedly negotiated on good faith by both parties, but only followed though on by one of them.

At this point though there are claims of mitigating circumstances, the reality is that it really doesn't matter. And why? Well, I won't bother addressing the claims of understanding by some suspicious new members/posters, or the fact that any of us can understand that things do happen along the way that complicates our everyday life - but I will say that it's terribly suspicious that the involved party somehow allowed their brother to use their sign-in yet did not instruct them to send a simple PM (or email) letting randy know there was a delay in the making. Suggesting otherwise is either discourteous, disingenuine, and/or ridiculous. And the reality is that it wouldn't matter if it was a regular business dealing, or the fact that you didn't show up for work for a number of days, due to the same excuse (real or not), that a business partner or your boss might be understanding though likely wouldn't as well ... and the truth is that one or the other would have already called off the deal or fired you when you didn't follow through as agreed to previously.

And herein lies the rub: in today's world of the Internet, with the ability of instant messaging and contacting, and the impersonal natuure it brings with those abilities, that while I agreee that it allows us all to be a little over-the-top with our expectations of immediacy - (was their ever cellphone numbers exchanged along the way?) - if we're to participate in THAT world we're going to need to be all the more diligent in fullfilling our part of any contacting or deals. Suggesting otherwise is irrational.
Regardless of the excuse, it's the obligation of the person having the "problem" to do the contacting - along with not expecting the other person to be happy to be left hanging - or expect exactly what happened here.
And to assume the risk of someone crying foul,
and do so without crying wolf
(or whatever).

keep us aprised on the latest randyreed, we'll all be interested to how this works out.

diesel, the way you have acted is defensive, and it was needed to everyone who has bashed you. people always will have the fear of getting screwed in a trade and i can see why this has gone this far and has been an interesting story. you take care of your family. and it can be understood that your brother could have gotten on here for a little bit and posted, but didnt want to reply to your pm's if he looked at them. it happens, he is your brother, why not let him post. and it is a given that randy posting this has not over reacted but is worried about getting screwed over. who wouldnt be over that much money.
people, let this be over with. it is understood why randy posted it. he had every right to be worried and wanted a little info to clam his nerves. diesel also had every right to defend himself, his family, and to be at the hospital with his wife. both sides should be understood. put yourself in their shoes and think what you would have done. i hope both you guys have fun and enjoy your trucks.
randy you live right down the highway from me, about 45 minutes. there is going to be a race offroad race and dirt oval race in moberly on july 15th if your interested. i could mail you a flier for it also. might be able to scan it and send it to you via email. i dont know if you know rusty hammonds but he is putting it together. let me know. its offraod for 1/10th and 1/8th and oval for 1/18th.

Oh wow.... You showed us.

Of course.... If you had done what you said you would in the first place none of this would have ever happened.

I did. I also sympathize with you, and only wish you and your family the best, but the fact of the matter is you didn't ship on Monday like you said you would.

I'm glad this all worked out, and like I said I hope all turns out ok for your wife and baby, but I don't see how you have any room to get self righteous about this.
