Jim was it difficult switching from painting backwards to learn how to paint normally on cars and bikes?
The transition isn't really difficult, but I painted full size cars first and learned R/C stuff later on actually. Since i've been around a while it's no secret that i'm not a youngster. I painted my first car in 1980, when most of you guys weren't born yet. I painted my first R/C car bodies with more then one color in 1985 and they were featured in Competition Plus magazine. So i'm what most would call old or my preference is "experienced". haha

The thing I like about painting on the outside is that mistakes can be repaired WAY easier. At least until clear is sprayed over your detail work. High lights can be done last and other things, so laying it out is easier. There is more masking involved though, since overspray gets on your last color, where a body you only have to worry about bleed through, or dried paint blowing around inside the body if not cleaned properly.

Both are fun when the finished results make it worth the effort!

Hope this helps.
