Default beginner..ratio to thin the paint?

hey i never have airbrushed b4..i just want to know whats the ratio to thing the paint i bought a testors blue pearl..also do i have to use a special thinner or would a regular thinner from home depot work??thx...

HMMM,
I've no idea about thinner base paint. Some brands you can spray
directly from the bottle, some have to thin with thinner.
The easy way for you to do is try it, add a little thinner at a time
until you're OK with how it comes out.

Take your time.

I don't know what are brush and psi your spraying at but a good basis it to get it to the thickness of whole milk. Are you painting a model or hard plastic body? I testors does not work well on Lexan. If its Testors model paint you can thin it with regular paint thinner. If its a Laquer based paint, use the specific thinner for that brand of paint. If water based, i use isopropyl alcohol.

im sure this is for lexan..it says rc on it..it doesnt say if its lacquer or what...i guess ill go to the lace where i bought they should know about it a bit better

Most lacquers (Pactra, Testors' etc.) I thin at about 60% thinner to 40% paint. And, spray them with less pressure than acrylics. About 25 psi max.
