Default Go Pro

Has anyone tried the Go Pro to film rc racing from the drivers stand? I was thinking of picking one up tomorrow but not sure how good of a job it would do. Thanks for any advice.

I have the gopro hd 1080p camera and it works great for doing stuff on the car and close up stuff. if u want to film the race from the drivers stand, u might be disappointed. It films awesome but since the cars are moving so fast, they arent that focused. It's not bad tho, but it's not 100 percent clear like it would be on a close up film. I am in afghanistan right now with crappy internet or else i would just upload a video to show you what i mean

Thanks for your service and thanks for the info. I though the cars would look far away and not sure what it would look like after dark under lights.

I have the gopro HD and hope to have some track vids after open practice tomorrow.... if I get them, I will post them....

So far, the little I have seen has been impressive, but it has all been at ground level, not from the drivers stand...

the camera actually does very good under low light tho. it adjusts itself and sees very well when it gets dark. and with the wide angle lense on the camera, it would be great for video taping a track but it just wont be as clear as what 1080p should be. up close yes, but not at a distance. But it is great in low light conditions

+ YouTube Video
ERROR: If you can see this, then YouTube is down or you don't have Flash installed.

Much easier to watch it on Youtube.... you can set it to 480p and expand the screen.... the latter part of the vid (from 22 seconds to the end) was shot with my GoPro from the drivers stand....Gets most of the track in view, but unless you are watching it in HD, the vehicles are a little small.... (I'm still working out the kinks in the HD video editing... all of my vids right now can only output in SD.... )

Thanks guys. Track owner and a couple of the top drivers put a lot of time and effort into that track.

Trying to figure out how to edit video, and still have it come out as 1080p.... I don't think moviemaker can do it. I have an old copy of Premier Elements that I'm going to try...I think HD was fairly common when 4.0 was around...
