How do you do the marble/cracked effect

This shell I used black and blotched it with a plastic bag....and backed it with pearl green.

This I sprayed faschange purple and blotched it with a blastic bag...then backed with black.

This I did the same as above...but sprayed a light mist of the faschange purple and let it dry. Then I sprayed another layer and blotched it and backed with black.

This one I sprayed some shading of black and a few random streaks...then sprayed a heavy layer of red, blotched it and backed it with black.

yeah I was worried about that. But I got a painters sponge for painting texture on walls. I think I am going to start experimenting with various stuff to see the different patterns. I did figure out that black isnt a good first color. The black you see in the back ground I did the same thing but I put blue in the backing to show contrast. But the only time you can see the blue is in direct sunlight.

I sprayed the metalic blue then I took my sponge (with the paint still very wet) and dabbed the paint till I can see through it in places but blured in others. This way I knew when I put the black on it would pop through in some places and give shading to others.
