Is there such a thing as a flat coat for the outside of the body.

I have used SEM paint from CarQuest. It really looks killer and holds up good.

Anyone with issues removing vinyl from a painted body, ie pulling paint around the vinyl when removing the mask. I have usually tried to pull it when the paint is wet, but in some instances thats not possible. I have tried when tacky but that is real bad. I will try tomorrow after a complete dry cycle to see what happens but I fear dry paint will be worse than heavy tack.

Using parma fascolors

Thanks

I have had that issue. I have fiund out that it was from to much paint to quick. A heavy amount in one shot instead of multiple thinner coats allowing some flash time between coats.

So after multiple coats did you allow a full cure before removing? Thanks

I do let it dry most of the time it seems to pull off cleaner than when it's wet.

usually a solid 24 hours if you do multiple thin coats, giving each coat a chance to set. You can usually tell if the paint is not tacky but gooyey its still not cured.

Hi all. I'm a painting moron. I pay somebody to do all my painting. I want to try to do my own. My first question is what is the matte black final coat that some painters use....it's super gritty and weighs a lot but it's damn near bullit proof. I'd like to paint a rock crawler with it. Doable? Can somebody id the paint?

Default Paint

Hey guys, I recently got back into racing after taking 6+ years off, I used to paint and stopped that as well but would like to start painting again but I hear Pactra is no longer around, sorry if this has been asked already, what can I use to replace Pactra? I like the Spaz stix colors but don't know if they have to be thinned or if they can be used right out of the bottle. Does HOK make R/C specific paint? If so where can I pick some up and does that have to be thinned? I tried using the water based stuff in the past but wasn't very successful, any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.....again sorry if this has been asked before, I feel like a newbie again and need some direction

Hello everyone. I have kind of a simple question. Im about to paint a sc body using a airbrush. I would like to know how much liquid mask needs to be used to coat the body? Would 4oz be enough? Or would 36oz be better?
