Chris,

Love your color selection and shading. :D:D

Any tips on trimming for the pin stripes? Do you trim purely with free hand?

I have a body that did not come with window masks and I was trying to figure out the best way to cut the trim edge around the windows and keep it uniform in size.

Thanks!

John

Does "staying fun" mean losing track of time when airbrushing? :D

John, for pin-striping... I used to use a normal sharpie to use the thickness the line it gave as a guide. I now find it easier to draw a single fine sharpie line and cut that. After the design is cut out I erase the fine sharpie design and just eyeball the thickness of the pin-striping with the cut in the liquid mask as a guide. You have to hold it at just the right light but it works so much better for me.

As for the window masks...use a normal sharpie and follow the groove in the body to draw the lines for the windows. Then use the line as a guide to make the cuts. I find it VERY easy to make straight cuts if you hold the Xacto handle as far back as you comfortably can at an angle as close to the body as you can.

Hope that helps.

I know it's up a few posts from this one, but it came in the mail today and just had to post a pic of it mounted. The wing will be replaced with a fl. yellow wing shortly.

A BIG thanks for everything Chris! All aspects of this transaction were handled with a level of professionalism not seem much in this hobby. You've got my business from now on!

Sk3tch 03-25-2011 06:52 PM

Dude! Looks even better mounted. Get some blue shock springs for the rear with that yellow wing and it will match all around.

Thanks for the props...looking forward to painting more.
