Alright using rattle can Tamiya spray paint one color. Also bought Tamiya ps-55 flat clear to paint a Jconcepts body.
Can i apply my decals on the outside of the body and then spray the flat clear on the outside to make the decals look flat too, with no damage to the decals themselves?

I will usually back everything with a silver, then a black to finish off the inside of the body. I hate seeing the colors through the clear windows.

Awesome sweet as brothers , if I was to use white or silver would I have to also use the black or is the black just up to me if I want it a darker green than obviously a lighter green ?
Thank you for helping

I suggest you try your colors out 1st on a test piece - either a clear soda bottle, or some clear plastic or plexiglass - backing colors will drastically change the primary colors. If you look at color charts on the Wicked Colors or Auto Air Colors web site, they show the color backed by white and again by black, and they often look very different.

If I were to paint the Gulf colors on a body (orange and light blue), which one would be best to put down first? The golden rule of darker colors first is confusing when they are both relatively light colors.
I've always got others to paint my shells, and I'm strongly considering doing so again so I don't have to spend more cash on getting the paints, compressor, airbrush etc.
