Equipment Recommendations Needed
Hi all,
I want to get started in painting RC bodies. I have spend a few days researching equipment and am considering the Iwata Eclipse HP-BCS airbrush. I am a little uncertain about an air source. I am not sure to go with an air bottle or compressor. What are your thoughts on the brush and airsource? Where is generally considered the place to buy online? Any other input would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you,
John

jcrouse - I have the Iwata HP-CS and it's a great airbrush. You won't be disappointed with Iwata products.
For an air source, I have been using the Createx INTRUDER 2000 for a couple months. http://www.dixieart.com/TC2000.html I originally bought this compressor so I could paint in the dorms, but I have also brought it home during break to replace my noisy industrial compressor. That is another option, as you can also use it to blow dirt off your RC's.
I have never used a bottle, but the downside would be the need to refill it mid-paintjob. That is why I went with the silent compressor instead of a bottle.
I bought my airbrush a couple years ago, and my compressor a couple months ago from http://www.dixieart.com -- They have fairly fast service, and good prices.
