Hey,

I am looking to start airbrushing shells soon and i was wondering if the pro's scuff shells before masking with tape or using liquid mask or do you was the shells, dry them and then mask??

Thanks in advance

I was my shells with warm water and dish soap, then I dry them and mask them. I personally do not scuff, I'm not sure if others do or not. Hope that helps.

Default scuffy shells

I have I found that using white scotch brite you get a little bite for thepaint. You really dont have to do it it does help if you are trying to get really tight detail but most will never notice. Like chris said warm soap and water usually does fine. Hope this helps. - Darrin

Warm water and dish soap, then i use denatured alcohol. It insures its cleaned and i let it air dry.
