Default Getting into airbrushing

I am looking at getting into airbrushing. I was wondering if I could use an air tank as a compressor? It would be silent you could control the pressure easily. As long as you watched your pressure and didn't let it drop below a certain PSI I think it should work fine?? Yes? No?

Yes. That would work. A compressor is an air tank with a pump attached...

I think you would definately have to put a moister trap on it for sure, and a regulator as well. Another problem is that you will have to stop in the middle of what youre doing to refill the tank, then the paint begins to dry in the gun, you have to clean that...........yada yada yada. I would definately check into a compressor. Try harbor freight or northern tool.

I am waiting for some crack head to trade in a used compressor at our tool store.. but in the mean time I have an airtank and figured I could retro fit it to work for a couple of weeks.. I think it would be better than using those bottles of compressed air they sell.. I just ordered an Iwata eclipse hp-cs..

The bottles work well, but make sure you sit them in a bowl of warm water. This will keep the contents from freezing up as you use it. You'll be really happy with that brush. I have one and it was like going from a yugo with my paasche to a cadilac with the Iwata.

When painting a body how do people do the trim around the windows? Like a border around the inside of the mask?

Window trims is done by cutting two parallel lines in the masking material using an xacto knife.
