When your starting, it can be a PITA. I am down to 30 second color changes and can rebuild my AB in 10 minutes. It helps when all you did all summer was paint.

AHHHH! I dont use faskolor, not that there is anything wrong with it, I just have so much of the pactra laquers it would cost me an arm and a leg to switch over.

What pressure are you shooting at? With Faskolor you typically will need to be at 50psi or more. I watched one of the Parma guys at the iHobby Expo in Chicago paint some bodies with the Faskolor paint. He was shooting straight from the bottle @ 58psi without any issues. I believe his airbrush was a Badger knock-off.

What airbrush are you using?

You really do need to thin faskolor. If you don't you have to use higher pressures, and that means less detail and no shading. It will basically look like a rattle-can job. The best thinner is not water, but good old fashioned Windex.

Thin Fascolor alteast by 30%. For fades spray 20 to 30 PSI. For large areas spray 40 to 50 PSI. These PSI ratings will work great if you thing the paint right.

Good to know about that windex thinner trick. I had no idea and never thinnned my paint that much. Just turned up the pressure to get it to spray evenly. No wonder I have always had so much trouble getting a nice fine line. lol

I am just about to paint a new truggy body for myself tonight. Did all the masking and prep last night. I'll have to try the thinning thing and see if I get better results.

We did a comparison on thinning faskolor and found that Fantastik worked the best out of water, alchohol, windex and Fantastik.

Anyone have any idea what makes fantastik and windex better tahn water or alcohol? I thought that windex was just water and alcohol anyway.

I had these same problems and that's why I switched from faskolor back to pactra. One other thing is found out in the inconsistentcy of the paints from bottle to bottle. Mainly black and rasberry. These two colors are always super watery. Is it just me or have others found the same thing?

I still think that my painting skills never got off the ground because of you always beating me at the nats in concorse(or however you spell it) Man those were the times back in 99. That darth maul body is still one of my favorites.
