What is a good cheaper software that is compatible with the cricut? Also, what is the process to importing it in for cutting?

Thanks a bunch!

Now I’m looking at the cameo instead. Not sure. Opinions?

Based off the research I did a while back when I was shopping one, the general consensus I came away with is that the circut is the better machine, able to cut fine detail marginally better, but the cameo has much better software, and plays nice with 3rd party software better than the cricut. With Cricut you are forced to use their online design space, which can get slow/laggy at peak usage.

There are work arounds on the cricut, but the cameo is certainly the more flexible machine, and would certainly be my choice if I were in your shoes.

So I went a completely different route and got the vinyl express r19. Anyone have experience with this one? Also looking at the vinyl master software. I’ve downloaded the demo but haven’t messed with it yet. Bummer I can’t use it on my Mac but good thing I have a PC.

I just got a Cameo. Does anyone want to share any designs to me for masks? I am looking for hex patterns and anything else I can do with it. Just got it yesterday, so I haven't really started experimenting with it.

Thanks

I went to use my Silhouette SD yesterday that I have owned for about 6 years and after turning it on I pressed the enter button to load my vinyl and nothing happened. Tried several times and no response! Any suggestions? Is this thing toast? I'm thinking it is fried and need to look for something new. The Silhouette Portrait seems to have replaced the SD, is the Cameo worth the extra $75 or should I just get the portrait. I only use it for cutting vinyl for rc cars.
