Sorry, I missed this. I just checked and there is no label on the roll. It's not Oracal or Avery so it must be EnduraGloss Transparent 503.

Can someone here cut vinyl chassis protector sheets for me, or direct me to someone who can?

I would like sheets for an Xray x1 and and Xray t4 2016.

Also can someone give me some advice on how to draw using vector graphics software. I want to try to draw an image of a chassis then have a person cut the sheet for me

Thank you

The Brother ScanNcut2 is pretty decent. You can cut more than just vinyl with it. It is a little girly looking.

Oracal 813 works pretty well.
little tough on some of the curves sometimes b/c it's kinda rigid, but masks and cuts very well.

Just got a cameo 3 and started making some masks. So far so good with the machine end of things at least.

One issue I'm having is drawing the masks in illustrator and exporting as a dxf to open in the Silhouette software. The scale of the drawing is way off. Has anyone else had this issue and may know a solution? I'm on a mac using cs6.

I was able to export as a png and trace it to get a good outcome, but I think with more intricate designs a dxf would be my best bet.

edit... seems as though you have to adjust the import settings to import "as is".

So my wife is getting pretty excited about buying a vinyl cutter for hobby use. I will have my $.02 on the direction we go hardware wise, as she tends to defer such decisions to me because I am fairly analytical before spending and she trusts my judgement. I would like for her to be able to get some return on investment when she feels comfortable doing so, which begs the question; should i spend more on a bigger/more capable machine? I will certainly take advantage of it from the RC side, making driver names and paint masks. I suspect any machine would do that with ease though.

Right now the Cameo 3 is the front runner, but is there a better machine for under, lets say, $450-$500 that i need to be considering? Im also looking at the uscutter MH line, which seems to be a little hit or miss quality wise.

I have AI and a few other vector programs at my disposal thanks to my profession. For that have purchased an entry level machine like the Cameo, is there a better machine you wish you would have gotten?

I have an MH700 series cutter and it works great. I've had it for 3-4 years now and it has been great. They're customer service seems to be ok also. Hope this helps!!

Does anyone use a Brother scan and cut? I have access to one and have been trying to cut frisket masking film for designs with mixed results so I wondered if anyone else who uses one can share the settings they use (cut speed, blade depth etc)?

TIA
