The above Camaro looks good.

I feel like I've seen that combination of colors before (or similar). Was there any oil company that had similar colors or a race car painted like that?

EDIT: (smacks himself on forehead...duh)

The Camaro is using colors similar to some of the Sunoco race cars.

Default ultimate mirror chrome

Hi
I sprayed the clear, then the mirror chrome and backed it with black.
Very confused why it just looks like silver metallic paint.
So disappointed
Did I do something wrong?

Dunno?

Here's one I did with translucent yellow first, then mirror chrome, then black and it looks like a bar of solid gold.

Here it is with just chrome and black:

Considered doing a VTA car with one of these schemes but it flakes too bad.

I ran the gold one for a race and every hit I was leaving clouds of gold flake all over the track.

I've since switched to this. This is Spazstix Candy Yellow backed with their backing silver.

Using silver as the backer seems to have helped it stick. But if you compare the mustang to the 12th scale above, you can see the difference is reflectivity that you get when you use chrome and silver behind the candy colors.

I've got the chrome five spoke wheels on it now and it would look good in the sun.

Yes just spray the chrome in light coats first then back it with black. You shouldn't spray a clear first its just going to dull it.

its a color scheme used by a good friend that raced in SCCA. its older school, different, and stands out.
