Magnets to Mount Lexan Bodies?

Can anyone give some advice on using magnets instead of hinge pins to mount a lexan body? Avoids cutting holes in body.

what size and type magnest work well?
what kind of glue to stick mags to the lexan/pint?
how are magnets mount to the shock tower or body tower?
how well do they hold in crashes?
how easy to remove body?
how long does the glue last in view of the constant stress of removing the body?

"rallysteve" had some cool car bodies mounted this way, and posted on the web.

Thanks

Tim

Never seen ppl use magnets to mount body before.
Definitely not for race because of its weight and strength. I think ppl simply don't want to see the body 'fly' during unfortunate crash. They are unneccessary added weight to the car as well.
For concourse maybe could be use those 1/2in circle type found for fridge sticking type.
There might be other better ways than use magnets, maybe velcro or some other sort. Gd luck.

Default body magnets

Hey you could try some rare earth magnets- maybe try neodymium... this site has cheap disk magnets that you could try.

Maybe look for a pull strength of a pound or two. A body weighs a few ounces, and would be going at a certain speed in a crash.
Impulse = Mass x Change in Velocity
(P= M deltaV)

Maybe you could just experiment; better to err on the slightly larger magnet side. If it's too big it'll work great for your fridge.

Sounds like a good idea.
