Default Dively

So within the first week I bought my Dively it had mold growing in it. Now it's got an order similar to vomit. Awesome. Still works, though. In all honesty, I'd rather have something that doesn't grow mold or stink.

Are there any other options that aren't as, I suppose the problem is, organic?

I know there's Parma, I think twice as expensive. Hobbico Mastermask is 5 dollars for 3oz at my LHS. Either of those worth the extra money? I'd just be happy with something that doesn't grow mold.

Thanks guys
Chris

I've heard more about Fasmask getting moldy than Dively's, so that's not the anwers... They're all the same thing for the most part. However, I've never had one get moldy.

Yeah, I had that problem. I just store it in the fridge next to the salad dressing and behind the mustard!

but seriously. I pick the mold out, it always happens to the cardboard insert in the cap. I usually toss that out. Mine never smelled like vomit though. The stuff is too good to let something like this ruin it for you.

Paint more bodies that way you won't give it a chance to go bad

It's ok to store it in the fridge? If so I'll start doing that.

I'd paint more bodies if I could but I only have so many bodies and so much paint

The mold grows inside the bottle, not on the bodies.

No matter who makes it, it is all liquid latex
and will mold when exposed to air. The best
way to preserve it is to keep air away from it.
I use an old trick that house painters use on
latex paint and drywall mud. I pour a layer of water
over the top to keep the air from getting to it and
to keep the skin off the top. I also cover the top
of the bottle with saran wrap before I tighten the top
and store in the frige. When you want to use it again
just pour the water off the top and skake to mix.

I did some bodies with LiquidMask in the past, but like others I also just HATE the smell! I'll just stick with tape for now, it works best for me (better results too, but that's also personal).

it helps when you wipe any liquid mask off the cardboard top peice, and around the mouth of the jar(even the inside of the mouth). Then tighten the cap on very hard.
