My first arrempts at painting plastic
Hello Everyone, first time poster for the most part and a complete newbie to painting of any kind when it come to plastic.
The dragster body is my first attempt and I used a badger 200 single action air brush. Ignore the over spray on the engine area as that is covered with liquid mask. A lot of mistakes made but much learned from those mistakes
The ProMod body is my second attempt. Much better and I learned alot from the first body and I used an Iwata HP-CS. Using the dual action airbrush was bit intimdating initially. I also printed my flames on the backside of fisket vinyl, cut them out and then applied to mask the area for the flames. I used Createx paints because they're cheaper and drag bodies don't take near the beating of the off road cars. Ignore the trim jobs on the plastic. My dremel was dead when the pictures were taken.

looks pretty good! How did you do the flames, did you have to draw on first? I am working on a Mini and need all the info i can get.
Thanks!

I found some flame designs on the web that were close to what I wanted. I them put then in Photoshop and made them more of what I was looking for. I then printed them on the back side of Vinyl frisket, cut around the image and placed the frisket on the inside of the body for my mask. I painted the black first and used a Q-tip to clean up the edges and then pressed on painting the remainder.
