Dang Chuck, for a quiet compressor that is pretty loud!

I guess quiet is a long way from silent.

I did notice it sounded pretty loud when I played the video back. I think the recording is very amplified. Maybe try turning your speaker volume down, lol. Really, its pretty quiet. It's not totally silent like a fridge or something. I bet if I did a side by side between this one and my Dewalt...a difference can be heard in a video. The claimed db rating is 60. The main thing I wanted is not to hear it upstairs and it works well in that aspect.

I'd love to have a Silentaire compressor, but don't want to spend a grand on one. Before I'd do that, I'd get a huge upright one a stick it in the garage and pipe the air down.

Here, this video may be a better sound comparison. The three compressors are a Dewalt 4.5 gallon, Campbell Hausfeld 1 gallon and a GMC Syclone 6 gallon.

OK, now that shows the difference, and it's BIG lol.

I have seen the remote compressor/pipe it over setup, but you really have to watch it with water in the lines.

I can see where that would happen with constant temperature changes in the garage, especially in the winter. If I would pipe, I would have a trap on the compressor and another in my paint room. My garage stays decently warm, but cools down in a hurry when the door opens to drive in or out.

You just need to pipe a drip leg prior to the final fitting up to the regulator, and add a ball valve there so you can easily open it and blow down the line.

Or use a tee facing up to attach the regulator so nothing on the bottom of the pipe gets up in there.

Unfortunately no...I just took one pic and then shipped with the film still attached. I really should take more pics with my SLR when I finish a body. I used to, but have a bad habit of snapping pics with my phone, lol.
