Finally finished up this project after over 2 months of work. Not perfect, but I'm ok with it, it's gonna get beat up anyway
Rat Fink driver and blower unit are 3d printed and painted. Body is a modified version of ProLine 56 Ford F100. Hemi powered Ford
I'm going to start a new project for the Winter based on this concept, probably using the same body, but maybe doing the same idea with a Parma 56 Chevy body. It's going to be an Outlaw Extreme drag car, built from scratch using Slash hop-up parts and stuffing the biggest BB I can fit, nitrous oxide, the works. Built to be outrageous, not caring about engine longevity.

either a super narrow flexi masking tape - tamiya sells many thicknesses - I like this for ‘large’ stripes - especially ones that curve around. For fat linear stripes I just use blue painters tape of varying widths and then interlay narrower tape for a different edge to the stripe.
or
for patterned stripes mask the area, spray one color, then pull the mask back and re-apply a few mm away from the first leaving a gap that you spray your stripe color. Good for tight and narrow stripes.
of course all rules are made to be broken

pro line camaro, experimenting with ghost flames, candy rootbeer roof, candy red with metallic backer. The candy red is so deep also hard to photograph.
