Default 5ive t clutch options

Hello,
I was wondering what clutch do you guys run for racing? I'm doing my first track race with my losi in August and I want to see if I should just change the spring and shoes or have to do the whole thing. Right now it's stock.

I run an MIP clutch. They are an excellent clutch for racing when used properly with a vented bell and carrier. If you don't want to get into that expense, I would replace with a stock clutch if it is not working properly. What does the clutch look like as far as wear? Can you post a pic?

It seems alright I drove it awhile ago when I first bought it and recently toar it apart for some cleaning and a few upgrades. I can't take a pic as I'm at work. What kind of bell and carrier are you running?

Last I knew the mip wasn't supposed to work with the longer 32cc motors.

I've ran a few clutches. I think the best by far is the snapper clutch, then heavy duty with 8k or red spring, rooster tail was the worst I've used.

I run an MIP on my 32 Reed and 34 PP engines. Works fine.

I told them that a while ago. I've only had 32cc based motors. Do the synthetic pucks hold up in powerful applications?

I only ran my 5ive at the 2 races at Horizon this year. I checked the clutch and it looks new. As long as you have an open carrier and bell, you are fine. I have know guys that have 2 seasons on theirs and they are still in good shape. I would replace my shoes after 2 seasons no matter how good they look.

I only ran mine for a tank or two. I tried rooster tail because I wanted light weight, for some reason it just slips like crazy and gets super hot.

I have never worried about weight in my 5ive. There is an enormous power to weight ratio. Well, with OBR engines there is!

I doubt the weight difference from clutch to clutch affects anything. lol
