Default Hpi 5b SS Update?

Hi All,

Anyone know any details on the current ss? Seems to be out of stock at every site i'd order from. Last update 2014, maybe they are coming out with another updated kit?

Anyone know anything?

Ben

Then again we might not see the kracken models, it seems they are putting all their eggs into the vektka 5.

There are no updates that I can see coming, the #112457 kit is still the current SS kit. They are just out of stock and back ordered. They should be back in stock in late April. They were in stock as recent as early February, so just a little hiccup in the supply chain.

The Kraken VEKTA.5 is not being produced by HPI. It is made by Kraken. The kit versions of the VEKTA.5 are getting released today.

HPI did a collaborative effort on some "Kraken Edition" Bajas by HPI, the Sidewinder and TSK-B. HPI used Kraken as an OEM source. I have heard that those are still getting produced. I think the main emphasis is getting the Venture scale crawler out, then the Kraken edition Baja and 5R Mustanga Baja.

I keep seeing alot of post about the hpi 5b ss kits ....Whats the main reason for this ? I would think you could just buy a clone & do some upgrades ? Can someone explain this to me in dollars n cents ....

I think its people wanting to stick to the hpi brand are take the joy of assembling a kit. If I where to ever do it again, I would buy the km 300 dollar roller and upgrade as I go. I had a km a few years ago, the motor went to crap really fast and I just updated as I went. The price of used hpi bajas have really come down, some people may ask a lot for them but highly unlikely get it. I have always gotten used.

I usually buy an extra kit to take to the track ....This way when I break ...I have the part ...I think its cheaper than buying alot of parts I may never use ....Ive looked at several clone's RTR but didnt buy because i dont know what parts are compatable with my hpi yet ...
