Twisted you going for a landspeed record with your Sportline?? If you are you might want to look up this guy IETZR1S on HPI BAJA FORUM. He has gone 90+ mph with a OBR mod 33.3 cc.

I've always wanted to create a 90mph speed machine. I've seen (on youtube) Marders pushing around 85. Seems like there has to be a whole lot of custom work done to reach those speeds with an FG. Biggest motor that fits that I know of is a 30.5cc..... Nitrohead, do you know how fast your reed motor is getting your car? I managed 56.5 via a Garmin 301 today and hoping to reach the 60's when new diff arrives but can an extra 3cc's really push the car another 30mph?

Wow maybe so. Just found a vid from the guy you mentioned and he claims to be running a 30.5cc with 34/40 gearing. We run a lower ratio in our FG's.

.....Yes Lone Racer he is running topend speed gears. You need a long distance however for the motor to wind out and reach those high topend speeds.

Lone Racer you need to get in touch with a young man named Bernard H. I call him the merchant of speed because back in 2009 he set a Rossa Racing Federation world record of 97.96 miles an hour with a Baja powered by a 23cc.

Yea i seen all their vids. I'm not overly impressed with a twin pushing 100. I just figure they outta at least hit 100mph. The guy in this vid runs with the same crew down there in FL. Impressive because he claims it's a 30.5cc. I forgot to mention that those 23cc motors that are pushing serious speed limits have custom cranks. I will try and find the thread I found that info in.....

Them 305 boys really know how to go FAST!

Hey nitrohead, check out this thread. The guy was shown no love so didn't follow up but great modding he did. He inspired me to put a 32cc or 34cc in my new/old Firehammer. Accepts most of my Marder parts and is a much wider chassis. Of course only after I tackle laying the motor down in my Marder but we keep getting these 55+ degree days here so who knows when I will actually pack it in for the winter.

Oopps I forgot to add the link to that thread for you. http://www.largescaleforums.com/show...450#post199450

Ya I know they should/will push past 100mph but getting there with a single cylinder I feel is a bit more of an accomplishment..... I finally got some decent speed today. Broke 70mph. Couldn't pass 53mph with the GRP on roads, slap the grp baja tires on (taller tire) and the buggy just flew by! I wish I woulda tried the baja tires in rear and onroads up front, maybe I coulda hit 75. Can't wait to see what a good top end pipe will do.
