Larry,

What are your thoughts about the t1000 Baja truck? How is the quality and durability? Are all the parts capatible with HPI? I am thinking about getting a 1/5 scale soon and trying to decide on the Losi DBXL or maybe one of these.

I really liked my T1000 SC truck. I just wanted to go 4wd instead as far as trucks go. So I sold it and bought a Losi 5ive. I also wanted a buggy so I got the KM Baja 5B (KSRC-002 (wild grey). I've also in the past had the HPI Baja 5B SS. I think these latest King Motor Baja's are really good. I don't really have any experience with the new DBXL, but I believe they are made by a different manufacture than the 5ive. My 5ive is really good quality. Just as good as a nitro 3.0. It may even be made by the same manufacture as the current TLR cars.

Here's my take on the three....

If you want a truck the Losi 5ive will have the biggest "truck" class at any large event. And it's by far the easiest to drive. However, it's the most expensive. I would only go with a roller and add your own gear.

If you want a 4wd vehicle and your not interested in the 5ive then the DBXL would be a good choice. The negatives would be it's only available as RTR. I think the motor is underpowered. I would sell all the running gear (motor pipe electronics) and just put in some quality stuff. This would make it a much better buggy.

If you want low cost options (2wd only)...... then it would be hard to beat the KM stuff. I really like the new motors these KM's are coming with! 30.5cc motor with great pipes and carbs. You would have to just choose buggy or truck. The truck will be heavier (especially the SC truck vs the 5T truck body) vs the buggy. However, the truck has taller tires than a buggy and will roll over imperfections on the track easier making it easier to drive than the buggy. But with the heavier weight of the truck it'll feel slower and not as nimble as a buggy.

That's about all I can think of...

They're all different enough that they really aren't comparable. You just have to decide which type best suites your budget and what you want out of it.

And yes,... almost all the parts on the 2wd King Motors Baja are compatible with HPI. King Motors has tons of good parts at about 1/2 the cost.

Quick question for the clone supporters...

When you run all the legimate aftermarket companies out of business where will you get your parts?
Km...rovan...sure don't have the ability to design anything on their own..

Unless your putting money into my account I'll spend it as I please.

If you would like to discuss the "clone issue" there is already a thread to do so. Please use the search function next time. I know it's really difficult for some people so I've included a simple link that only requires enough intelligence to maneuver a mouse pointer over the BLUE text, and then click the mouse button.

Enjoy the discussion here: http://www.rctech.net/forum/oval-lar...5b-clones.html

It was a simple question
I have no desire to argue back in forth with people that have no clue the damage supporting these low quality knock off products cause... not only in Rc but the whole economy.

Really.... please dude, you know where you were going with that. As you can see from my sig I support plenty as I choose.

Anyways,... don't take it personal. We're all in this hobby for the same reason and I hope you can enjoy it as much as the rest of us. Let's just race and have fun.
