If your looking to buy a King Motors Buggy to race, these make a great starting platform. No matter if you buy an HPI or a King or any other brand, your going to have to upgrade all the same components to make it race worthy. I started with a new King Roller Buggy and converted it to a sprint. Upgraded clutch carrier, axles and cups and braces and it has done me well.

Also what air filters ....Something better than what came in the kit ...

What I realized with my air filter ,is its hard to take off & put back on after
cleaning ,so I think people want something that's easier to maintain ,looks
cool ,an still does the job of keeping debris blocked out!...

Thanks for the links to the 1/5 scale stuff

ive owned a few different 1/5 scale over the years.. first one was 10 years ago, a km ksrc-002 and it came with a 29cc and i blew the engine in 3 tanks after pulling it out of the box. I did break in just as it said to, the rispin bearing fell apart.. after putting a 29cc zenoah i liked it alot more but it always fell apart, so i sold that and bought a hpi baja 5b and it was basically a better model but still had alot of issues with diffs and stuff so i took a break from rc.. then last spring i bought a losi dbxl and i didnt like the gutless 23cc lol so i ended up selling that and bought a newer modded baja 5b ss with a rcmk 30.5cc full mod motor and loved that thing.. i had no issues with that one at all and i drove the hell out of it.. i ended up blowing the engine and selling it to a buddy for cheap to help him out.. now i just recently picked up a km t1000 and i love the thing to pieces.. these newer models are so much better quality then my first km back 10 years ago.. i really like this km t1000 but ive heard some stories about the 30.5cc being hard to keep together.. so i do plan on getting a custom engine built for it.. does anyone know how well these diffs hold up to the higher end motors?

I bought myself the Dark Knight 5B buggy the other day, sexy looking thing with a 30.5cc engine. I got a side mount tuned pipe to go with too.
I'm concerned about it only having 6.5mm rear axles, anyone know of any thicker/stronger ones that will fit in the drive cups. If not maybe a drive cup/axle combo that will fit in the diff as I've read the diff is one of the parts that's a different size to the HPI diff, but don't what part of it is different
