I did 1/8 Oval at VRP raceway in Brooks. One of the best oval tracks ever built, Vince did a great job on the track.
I converted my 1/8 oval car into a on road basher. I did build another 1/8 Late Model car. Best of the best on this car all brand new and collecting dust. Makes a great shelf queen.

That video of the Sugar Bowl is one of the saddest things I've ever seen. In its hay day it was a premier dirt oval and was then concreted to be one of the best concrete ovals in the south.

Yep, as a young kid, I would get my brother to take me to watch. .. we couldn't afford to race back then. Now that I can afford it. ..well, it is very sad.

King reopened a couple years back, after sitting for what, sixteen years?

See if you can get the Bowl reopened...

I don't remember exact details but the property is burdened and cannot be reopened. I believe it has been rezoned commercial and the price the bank wants for it would not be feasible to pay.

Face book little dixie speedway. We run several classes of 1/8 nitro and ecectric. 1/10 street stock, modified, and latemldel (very inexpensive). Chris works very hard on the track to keep it groomed and provide a family atmosphere. Come by even if u arent racn, we have good food! Addy is posted on fb page.
