Smile Second 5b

So it looks like I have a second 5b on the way. My first one has pretty much been built back to stock 2.0 with a ss pipe and air filter adapter mod and bigger better air filter. Its a 23cc. The second one has a engine needing at least a new top end. So if you had 2 how would youbuild the second one. Full mod, 5t conversion speed run on road? The latter is what I'm thinking the most about. Maybe go brushless?

You're lucky. I was just going on his thread to buy it. I have 2 23's with no truck to put them in. I think onroad, with a b, is alot of fun. My t kills my b in the desert but my t doesn't handle as well onroad. My b is set up for sand and onroad and my t for desert.

Once I get it torn down I may need a 23. His post says it needs a top end. Although there is a longrod bottom end in the box. That may be the way to go. It will be torn completely down first then slowly rebuilt so I will be looking for parts.

Well, hit me up if you need one. I'd sell one, if I still have them. I noticed a big difference between my original 23 and the 26 in it now.

Just buy a larger topend for the bad 23cc, why wouldnt you want more power?

26, 29, or 30.5 will be just as dependable. Even a ported, engine is fine.

When you start to go crazy with power, thats when an engine can be a bit more of a pain.

My 30.5cc esp mod runs and starts like a dream anytime. Running around 6.5hp

The stock 26cc cy is a great engine with good power

Well I guess I'll see what shape the longrod engine is in when it gets here and go from there. I would kinda like a bigger engine. Hard to compare how it runs because there isn't any other 1/5 stuff around here.

Doesn't matter what shape it's in really. You should replace the case bearings and seals. Last thing you want is to tear down a fresh engine because a failed bearing destroys it.

DDM often puts head/piston kits on daily deal too

Gonna find out I may even try a little porting. I work with an awesome 2stroke and small engine technician. Been talking about some minor mods.
