I've never seen a 2 bolt make anywhere the same power a 4 bolt will. It's to do with the fact there are only 2 bolts holding the head on, they warp even without running high compression. The only thing good about a 2 bolt is they're cheap to practice porting technique and doing boost ports for case and bolt on reed porting. If you want to learn about porting feel free to send me a pm, I'll gladly share the improve learned these last few years building them.

Honestly wouldn't mind a little more power but I'm more worried about durability and longevity.

If you want to piece a motor to gether get the CY F270 four bolt bottom end, a Zenoah 25.4cc (G270) or 28.5(G290) topend and you can use all your old parts from your stock motor(Coil, shroud, carb, airfilter setup, flywheel, and crank) You can have an engine that will last you many many gallons and make great power for cheap. Give me a few and I'll get some part numbers and links for you.

Here's the parts:
Case:http://www.davesmotors.com/s.nl/c.88...t.A/id.7547/.f
Topend(s):25.4cc http://www.davesmotors.com/s.nl/c.88...t.A/id.8633/.f
28.5cc http://www.davesmotors.com/s.nl/c.88...t.A/id.8021/.f
For more power add a +1mm stroker crank: http://www.davesmotors.com/s.nl/c.88...t.A/id.1291/.f
And a copper gasket for proper squish: http://www.davesmotors.com/s.nl/c.88...t.A/id.1097/.f

Definitely been checking into this.

So what's better? Quieter more places to run or louder less places to run ?

Bigwhite86 10-25-2012 04:57 PM

That depends on you, would you rather have more power and freedom on pipes or take a hit to power and more than likely get yelled at for running your baja?

I don't mind being the *hole neighbor. I guess I'll have to try a stock pipe just to see if their is enough power difference to be worth the sound difference.

Bigwhite86 10-27-2012 12:08 PM

Oh there's a huge difference in power when switching from a stock can to a good tuned pipe, there are a few quiet pipes (Meikle side if you can find one is awesome and quieter than a stock can.) What kind of power are you looking for, good strong low-mid, or soft lowend but super strong highs and good mids?

Really more into the bottom to mid. It doesn't need to go any faster yet. Just get up to speed faster.

A rear dom is pretty nice, but I think the Victory big bore sidemount is my favorite pipe out of all the pipes I've tried. It has super smooth power and revs out a bit higher than a dominator, it's also more protected being a side mount than the rear mounted version.
