actually the slash and tmaxx where quickly surpassed...

In this case, the came out with something that had already been surpassed, and is not going to be useable on track. You can build a 1.8 lola car, which is faster and handles superior, than this.....and not have to have an ipod to run it.

did not say they did not come out with better trucks but before the maxx there was the clod and jugg line up with solid axles. after there was the savage, mgt, lst all 4 wheel independent MT just to name a few. as for the slash no one had heard of sc racing before it. now look what traxxas has stired up. everybody and there dog has a sc truck out there. on to the ipod thing. so what you guys are telling me there is no way to boost performance of the CC speedo with a castle link and laptop to reach 100mph. sounds like traxxas just turned down the forward power to 50%. dont know that for sure but all i own are CC mmm's and mmp's so it shouldnt be that hard.

Well said.. The iPod adjusts the EPA on the radio, it doesn't communicate with the ESC to increase its timing. If you pull the traxxas radio out and install your own and set EPA to 100%, you will be at 100 MPH.

What exactly has traxxas stirred up? The same thing that gt racing has for the last few years? Has anyone touting this car actually looked into gt8?....which ironically is a world wide race class, that this car will be excluded from because of the wheel base change from the slash it came from?

I run a slash, modded to gt8 lite, and have owned two tmaxxes, a merv, a bandit, and another slash, which I gave a gift to my niece and nephew when I got this one. I've sold numerous slashes working at a hobby shop. I don't hate traxxas, this particular vehicle, and the hype around it, are stupid however

Come on Traxxas, I want a 1/2 scale sprint car with a 900hp brushless motor and 100,000mah 12S lipos! So I can reach mach 4!

No, it wont. If you use an aftermarket radio, it will NOT go 100MPH. You can believe me or not, but that is the way it is. Even if you geared it, you wouldnt be able to go much faster than 55.
Just an FYI. I dont want guys to think that they can get around this system.

The XO-1 esc does not have a port for the Castle link.

Think about the technology a available today.. There are no 2.4 ghz system that communicate through a receiver to an ESC. Next gen ESC are going to communicate via Bluetooth and they're not available yet. Traxxas TQ system is $170. You really think it has such capabilities to alter the programming of a castle esc? Take a look at the TQ receiver, do you see a com port? USB or rs232 port.
