Can any of you electric guru give me an estimate of what the run time would be for the stock battery pack when the car is set in the 100mph mode?? A guy on another website estimated the run time to be about 5-8 min in the 100mph mode. Do you think this estimate is about right??

Thank you Raman for answering my question. How much a piece would those 10000 mah cost?? And appox how long would you have to wait before recharging the 10000 mah?? And how long would it take to charge a 10000 mah battery?? Sorry about all the questions but I don't know that much about lipo batteries.

It would depend on how many amps you are charging at. Higher amps will charge faster but would still take a while. My 2s 5000mah batteries usually take about 45 mins or so to straight charge (no balancing) at 8 amps.
A 10,000mah battery will take some time and they are hard to find (usually to make a 10k mah battery they stitch together 2 5000mah 3s batteries) so the weight would also be a problem. 5000mah 3s lipos can be had for $40 or so depending on C rating while a 10k mah battery would cost about $120 or so (Venom and Maxamps I think sell them).

Maybe when you dl the app and unlock, you have to sign an agreement waiver clearing Traxxas of any and all lawsuit potential.
Which would be incredibly smart if you think about it.
What if a Traxxas lawyer said,
"Uh, you can only sell this if you get them to agree to not sue if they kill someone..." And of course you can't get someone to sign that at the LHS or internet dealer level. So instead they CAN do that at the app level. Who knows, doubt it would ever be acknowledged that it actually could be due to this. Just a thought I was having when I was thinking about the risks in business in making such a potentially dangerous product.
Also getting live telemetry via an iOS device is a lot cheaper than engineering a radio with it built in. If you consider one of those units is only $50-60 used on Ebay or whatnot, just consider it like adding batteries to the remote or something.

Mkiiina is it safe to charge the lipos at a higher amperage than reccomended by the manufactor?? Charging them like that shortin the longivity of the pack?? How can you get away safely without balancing the cell??

I check my batteries before and after charging to verify they are close (usually +/- 0.05 is ok in my book), if they are outside of that range I balance charge.
I would be cautious charging over the mfg recommended settings but most batteries are now rated for a pretty high charge rate (please note this is different than the DIScharge rate). My gen aces are rated at 5c for a rate (5000mah = 5.0amp = 1C so I could charge mine as high as 25 amps and still be within the limit, my charger maxes out at 8 amps though...)

Thank You for explaining that MKiiina.

Here is an un-edited, natural shot of the XO-1, not a "traxxas production" - just to give you an idea of the dealio!
