Questions?? Nitro 1/8 Late models dead?

What is happening to the nitro 1/8 scale Late Models? They seem to be dying off. I am hearing that the Losi L8 is being discontinued and everyone is selling their cars. Is anyone else seeing this in their area? I am hoping this is just temporary.

Not at Southland Speedway in So Florida their not!!
It is the PREMIER class at our club. We have a great turnout every week ,although the summer heat did keep some away for a few weeks. Most guys are running Buggies setup for the oval. Our track is open to the public all week so it gets pretty rough by Saturday and we need the long shocks like on a buggy

Man, I wish we had that problem. We have a total of four nitro late models at our track. We have run two dirt oval races all summer. But, we also have an indoor track that runs several classes and an offroad track that pretty much grabs all the attention. I agree, folks that do not race or have not raced oval seem to think its boring. I dont see how door to door nitro action can be considered boring. And it is not as easy as it looks either. If your car has a bad set up it will definitely let you know.

Come on over next door to Mississippi, four tracks on alternating schedule. Hard to find a weekend free unless it rains. Throw in a fun little track that's racing this coming weekend just out of Baton Rouge. All 1/8 scale, all nitro, all fun.

BTW, LOSI is not dropping the l8ight from the lineup, just the slider.

Sweet! you got a list of the tracks and their schedules. I am thinking about running the cajun indoor nationals in October. Glad to hear the L8 isnt going anywhere.

Default Mississippi/Louisana Area Schedule

Here's my group's schedule for the rest of this year. Don't let the open dates confuse you. They aren't really open. We either shoot up to Black Bayou Speedway in Greenville, MS or Southeast R/C Speedway in Meridian, MS those weekends. We've had 3 rainouts this year. Other than that we've been somewhere virtually every weekend since Feb.

Oval is on life support in Georgia. 1/8 and SCT offroad rule here. 1/10 offroad is starting to make a comeback.
