Wow, still no responses for you J-mac. You still going to Omaha this weekend? I hear Howell isn't going, so do you need a ride? Spitty dropped out on me and Chris, so I've got room for you if you want to ride with us. I might call you this evening and we can visit about the late model I'll get you a list of parts you'll need. You buy the parts and I'll set it up for you

Not a whole lot needed for the basic conversion:

OFN34090 Ofna GTP front bumper (drill new holes to mount to D8)
OFN34091 Ofna GTP bumper foam
OFN33011 Ofna GTP body post set
LOSA17757 Losi DLM2 tires (x2)
Late model body of your choice (I prefer the C&M Atomic)

The front body post setup is pretty self explanatory (sp?), but with the rear you will have to do some fabricating I haven't done J-mac's car yet, but I will probably just flip the top part of the wing mount and make an aluminum plate to mount the body posts to. It's not too terribly difficult. As far as car setup goes, I think we are going to start with the stock offroad setup but go up one spring rate and 10 wt on shock oil on all four corners. Also, we'll probably start with 120k, 120k, 10k on the diffs, f/c/r respectively. We'll just start with that and tune from there.

I'll try and keep posting up what we find setup wise.

Andy

I would switch over to the Revo shocks just for the larger spring selection, and I would lock the center diff, working on an off set version, will post picks

Where are you going to start at with the revo shocks as far as shock piston/oils/springs go? I'm running a Hyper 8.5 converted and I'm looking at switching to revo shocks just for the greater spring selection and I can't seem to find a good place to start. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

As far as the D8 goes, he's been racing it for 3 weeks now and he hasn't made any significant changes from his off-road setup (other than diffs/shocks which are still what we started with above). We actually have two guys running converted D8's right now and they are both working quite well. I'll try and keep everyone informed as I find out what is working for them

Thanks, Andy

Sorry, I still live in the dark ages with no internet at home so posting pictures is kind of a problem. The conversion is actually quite easy and the only thing I had to fabricate was the plate for the rear body mounts and the other guy that converted one is simply running the plate off of the L8 with a couple of new holes drilled to mount it. PM me if you need any more info and maybe I can email you some pictures

Thanks, Andy

start with 50 wt, and the stock piston that comes with them off ebay, if you need more damping drill and extra hole in the piston

Thanks, any guesses what springs might be best to start with? (rc4less) I suppose I should add that all the tracks in my area are loose dirt tracks, so I may need a softer setup, but I'm just looking for a good place to start from.

Thanks again, Andy
