Race Notes:

-Special thanks to Bub Zimmerman for inviting us out to his track for this race. While no longer a "bullring", this track provided some interesting racing all day long. Thanks Bub!

-Congratulations to Cliff Weeks for his 1st ever tour victory. Cliff bumped from the B main, made up a couple laps in the 100 lap A Main and made a pass on Mr. Todd for the lead with approximately 6 laps to go! This was the most exciting Small Block race of the series, great show guys!

-The Big Block A Main was also a close race. Early leader Matt Olmsted popped a LF shock, and thanks to some quick pit work by J-Rod, was able to hold onto the lead. What made this race interesting was the fact that at about lap 25 or 30 of the 100 lap event, every drivers car began losing traction, as the sun had baked the track all day, slowly taking away the black groove that had been laid down in practice. Al Webber, deciding to bump up to run Big Block, made a late pass on Bob Baker with about 10 laps remaining to scoop up 2nd place, while Bob rounded out the top 3, in an interesting 8 car A Main.

-In Sprints, Barry Wallace and Dylan Watier battled for the lead early on. With 3 drivers in position to win the points in the Sprint class, a lot of bragging rights were at stake, and Barry held off Dylan early on, and eventually built a commanding lead en route to his first win of the series this year. Dave Harris would eventually work his way up to 2nd, with Dylan rounding out the top 3.

-Mike Jeffery and Tim Fidanza won the Small Block/Big Block 2 Min. dash for cash, where a big block driver was paired up with a small block driver, driving the small block drivers car. The small block drivers ran a 1 min race 1st, handed the radio to the Big Block driver, who ran the 2nd min. Definitely an interesting way to finish up the event!

-Special thanks to the officer who stopped by to put a couple shots into the racoon that was circling Bub's front yard. Hopefully you have better aim next time.

-Dylan Watier was paying tribute to Fred, sporting a yellow XXX body on his Hyperdrive ride

-Al Webber put in an impressive run in his first Mr Dirt event running in the Big Block class, driving his TC2 car to a 2nd place finish. He also did a really cool trick where he bent a motor plate with 1 hand!

-The bullring has been transformed into a smaller Finger Lakes Raceway, which has been missed since its closing.

-Look for an update to www.mrdirtrcseries.com, with race 5 results, updated points and a special announcement for September!!!

Race #6 at Radio Hill will not be run due to a scheduling conflict. This event will have a replacement, with details to come very, very soon. Additionally, we are planning something to make this event a great way to close out this years running of the series, so stay tuned!
