Hey everyone - I've designed a carbon fiber chassis, upper deck, and battery bracket package for the Super chassis. Material is 2.5mm graphite.

It's designed it be compatible with stick packs (NiMH and 2S LiPo) in 3 locations - forward, rearward, and middle. Holes are provided for the stock stick pack mounts, also compatible with the outboard stock holes for anyone still using 7 cell sticks. The battery brackets are adjustable, accommodating stick packs up to 48mm wide and 133-143mm in length. There are a couple slots to help those who want to mount 3S stick packs longitudinally with tape. Finally, the motor bay has been opened up a bit to fit brushless cans.

A complete set includes the main chassis, upper deck, and a pair (2) of the battery brackets. Standoff posts for the battery brackets are not included, but can be found easily. At this point I am looking for firm commitments, as I need to order at least 10 of these to get production kicked off. From there they can be produced in multiples of 5-10.

Please contact me regarding pricing.

I have ordered a laser-cut prototype of these pieces to verify that everything bolts up correctly. Once I've sorted that, I will start production with a 4-6 week lead time. Please contact me if you are interested in a set, and I'll add you to the list. I will come 'round to collect Payment (PayPal) when we are ready to kick off machining.

Forgive sloppy electronics, shows placement of bits and bobs

Motor clearance

Forward-most stick mounting

Belt clearance in the forward battery position

In the process of finalizing pricing and timing.

Found battery posts that work with my brackets. Nicely centered on the battery, good clearance to the wires.

Realized that you can use the HPI stock bracket on one end and the new bracket on the side with the wires.

Looking to get a few more commitments before I kick off an order of these parts.

First run of 10 sets has gone into production. Look for an update in 2-4 weeks with photos of actual parts.

Please send me a note if you are interested in purchasing - thanks.

First run of parts has arrived!

6 of the 8 sets from this first run are spoken for. Contact me if you'd like to buy (see post 647 for details). If I get enough orders I will do another production run.

I like the chassis. I have the nitro version of this car and would love to get my hands on an electric one.

It is an awesome chassis. I'm going to be assembling mine in the near future. I'll post pictures when it's finished.

Those are wheels from the Kyosho FW03 chassis. They were originally white, I hand-painted them gold and silver. The tires are from a company called RJ Ride, they come up on eBay from time to time.

If you're after the mesh look, HPI makes a design and they're pretty easy to find. Those are "narrow" size only, though. The FW03 has a narrow/wide staggered offset, which makes them look cooler / harder to find wheels and tires for.
