Don't kick yourself over it too much. I've seen literally over a dozen tracks or hobby shops open and close in Central Indiana since I started racing in 90'. Something will happen, but don't get caught up in the rumor mill until then- It'll just drive you nuts.

How do keep up with the new tracks that pop up.
Is there some sort of mailing list or group to keep in touch with to know where the tracks are?

The list at the back of RCCA has sent me on wild goose chases before.

I never heard of the HT Indy one till last year after I physically visited the hobby shop.

I'ts hard not to get hooked into all the rumors... I just need that glimpse of hope in the future I guess. I've witnessed the hobby shops open and close like Kirk's, Indy RC, Hobby Haven, Weside Hobbies etc., but I'm still just upset that the only place I've found to race in the 13 years I've lived in Indy within a 30 minute drive is now going to close.

Do other cities have this problem? Or is Indy the "Racing Capital of the World" of everthing except RC?

Where is the track in New Castle?
Any one got the address and such?

Wow, thats one heck of a facility! Outdoor paved oval and road courses, and a dirt track!

Is there an indoor track also?

Wish we had a place like that near Indy!

Hey FoamDonuts, are you the same "FoamDonuts" that savaged my company (JACO) last week on Tech Talk?

That is the correct address for Race St. in New Castle. It is a banked carpet oval. They have been around forever. It is a fun and competitive place to race.

Jaco tires are pretty good, although they are more expensive.

I typically use the Trinity stree spec tires as they are about $4 cheaper per set.

I recently used an old JACO green tire that originally came with the kit that had to be at least a year old, and after about 4 runs with Trinity Zip Grip Free, the tire came back to life!

Question on oval cars. What do people use? I just discovered a local banked carpet oval here. They run ledgend, oval and TC class. I have TC and nitro cars, but I was told that the only TC that hooks up is a TC3. Would rather run the oval car and see what I can do. Recomendations??
TIA Good place to locate info for a beginner?

Thats bs the only car that hooks up in touring car is a TC3. What do you have? On carpet you want the chassis right down on the ground say 3.5mm firm shocks and sway bars and if you can use foams depending on the surface, grind them down to about an .125 depth which removes the side deflection of the foam. Then its only about you driving it.

Thanks Mad Max! They were saying shaft drive is that only chassis that are hooking well. Belts were not is what I was told last night. I have an X-Ray T1 that I run on a asphalt track. Hooks well for what I do. They run foam only, this is new carpet. I will get better data saturday when I go back down. Thanks!
