Default TRC LynxII diff help

Well i broke out my TRC lynxII pan car to give it some lipo and brushless updates. Obviously have not had the car apart in a long time but i took apart the Diff to rebuild and clean it...upon what i thought was the correct assembly it will no longer tighten. Anybody have access to an online manual to the car or be able to explain how the diff goes back together?

It should be the same as any other pan car diff. Does it use a cone or a thrust bearing on the outside of the hub (behind the nut)? Make sure the nut isn't bottoming out on the end of the axle before it tightens down.

Oh, and post some pics of that thing if you can. I haven't seen a Lynx in years.

Ill post some pics up later of it.

Yeah it has the cone and thrust bearing....problem is this is the only pan car I have ever had so I have very little knowledge of how the diff goes back together

Ok. Put the diff balls into the spur gear with a ring on the axle. There should be a bearing in both ends of the hub. Put the hub and the other ring on the axle.

Now we have two different types of set ups.

1. If you have an aluminum cone about 1/4 inch thick or so, put it on the axle so that the small end is against the inside race of the bearing. Then you should have either some bellville washers (slightly coned washhers) or an orange spacer. They go into the large end of the cone. Then put the nut on and tighten until you can't move the spur with your thumb while holding both tires still.

2. If you have a thrust bearing (blue plastic ring with balls in it), put it over the axle so the balls are against the outside race of the bearing in the hub. Then you should have a chrome steel washer to put over the axle and against the thrust bearing. Then you may have some bellville washers that go on big end toward the washer. Then tighten the nut.

Inside the axle are two washers one thicker than the other, the plastic piece with the diff balls and the cone washer.

Here is an old RC12L manual with a similar set-up.
