Well I wanted to wait till the car was done before posting these pictures but here is where it is now. Still need to mount the rear dampers and finish the front end.
Pretty much everything is custom made except for some CRC stuff.
It figures that I already redesigned some of the car already.

Wow, that looks good already! I recognize the CRC topdek en shockmount ;-)

Those rear tires look pretty big compared to the 540 size motor :-)

Very curious to know how it handles when its finished, and how much it weighs ready to race.

Keep us updated. Very nice project!!

When you get this on the market, I'm in for one.
I think a 550 set up would work in this!

Yupp, that's the idea. There is plenty of room for a 550 motor. it's actually balanced for it but a 540 should do quite well and I plan to make a bolt on counter weight to correct the balance offset caused by the shorter motor.

I was talking with alphacat the other day "He knows everybody". As a thought we went back to the old RC250 1/8 Club chassis which we are sure they still have the drawings for it and the RC500. Made us think of using it with One Lipo and later on bring back the RC 500 with 2 lipo's for the fast guys. low costand lots o fun. just a thought.

Has anyone given any thought to using a two speed to increase run time? Clearly some of the 1/8th scale manufacturers have something in the way of transmission or spur gear setups, requiring only a change to the pinion design, or a one way bearing adapter for an existing nitro setup. Thoughts?

It's been done...
It just makes things more complicated. The same thing can be achieved with dynamic timing.

YoDog, that looks simply awesome! I really enjoy pan cars and am looking forward to seeing this completed and how it runs.

Happy New Year. LB

What is with all of the renderings on that site? Is the Electron out? There is no info, just renders... Same for the touring body.
