I got to run my car for the first time Yesterday (On Road not Oval) I didn’t know how quick these cars are. We are running Trinity Spec motors and 4 cell Batteries. These things would rip with a 6 cell pack.
I had a lot of fun kind of felt like I was back in a parking lot with PVC Pipe racing my RS4.

Since your racing them with the spec motor are you using the "S" brushes and stock springs. The 6 cells seemed alittle to fast for these cars.We always raced them with 4 cells when we raced them.Have fun.

There will be a Legends Point Series Class at RCSM in Phoenix starting January 9th. Just completed a points series before T-giving, seems there are a few more drivers interested in joining the class. Can you say, "B" Main.

Still debating some of the rules. We have settled on the Spec Motor with "S" type brushes. Spec Tires from BSR, or TM Racing Components (very beefy wheel). A change to the front links (got rid of the wires) and running bearings all the way around. Other rules are Bolink Legends rules.

Batteries are the issue! However, the Spec 1600 from Trinity keep the cars running as fast on the last lap as they did on the 3rd at 5 minutes. Cars are turning 6.5 to 7.0 sec laps on a 210 ft track. However we are looking for a battery that has a little more run time, and oooompf!

Comparing discharge curves from a Spec Battery to a 3800 shows that the 4200 end voltage at 5 minutes is higher than the spec battery is at the the beginning of the run. Voltage for a Spec Battery at 5 min is 4.00 compared to 4.7 for the 3800's. Gonna try the bigger batts tonight and see what happends when the foam hits the asphault.

As it is with the 1600's tire wear is nominal. Adding the extra voltage, means more speed, more tire wear, so the cost of tires might off-set any monetary savings we might have gain by mutating the rules. Dunno, its worth a try?

The springs are Stock however I changed the Brushes (can't remember the type I took them on a recommendation) as for the 6 cells you are right it would be way too fast for the cars and this driver.

Did the 4200's last night. The car would gain about 4-6 feet coming off the turn on the competition, though loosing what ground was gained in the straight in the corners. Lap times though where the same, what was gained in the straights was lost in the corners.

I am finding the same issue with my car. We can change our gearing to match tire wear. I trued my tires to 58mm and added a 23t pinion one of the guys I am racing with also cut his tires but running stock pinion. My fast lap 12.66 his 12.57, it seems I am pushing thru the apex of the turn as I am coming hot. I figure I will keep the gearing and work on getting off the throttle earlier. Plus our finish line is at the end of the straight

Thats cool to see these still around. I remember seeing the legends run on a road course, looked like run racing. heck, a buddy had a digger and used to jump the thing.

So, anyone do any parking lot racing with these at all?
