Hey mate, yeah my gears weren’t quiet. They were tight however the car could roll 2-3m with a push. I changed out the rear diff cases to the TLR ones (they’re lovely!) but it made the mesh tight compared to the stock plastic cases for some reason, I assume from manufacturing tolerances of 0.05mm or so. Give. That I hadn’t changed the gears to new ones which could cause tightness do to no wearing in, and had new plastic rear diff housing I couldn’t pin point the problem. I posted in a forum and people suggested that I should change the steel bearing inserts for TLR aluminium bearing inserts. AUD$26 later, my problem was solved, the aluminium inserts are a much tighter fit and have literally no slop. The mesh was very good, quiet and overall smooth. Not quite butter smooth as before, but nearly there. I was hesitant to let the diffs wear in from earlier as I felt they would wear in too much and end up ruining the ring and pinion but these inserts saved the day, they also fixed a ‘high, tight spot’ within the mesh (I believe the steel inserts weren’t very concentric) and should wear in beautifully. I will update on this!

For the 5ive-T pros out there, what’s y’alls recommendation for F/C/R diff fluid weights on the 2.0? Mine will be a brushless version as well. I’ll be using the TLR252010 aluminum diffs in all three positions. Lightened gears and pinions as well as the MOD/MIP diff kits.

If more info is needed for the recommendation, just let me know.

Edit...the Losi manual says 10k/15k/5k. Still wanna here y’all’s recommendations.

I ran 50/300/50 in all my 5iveB bushless rigs, and DBXLe's. You certainly want around 200k or more in the centre to stop the power unloading to the front wheels

Bros...being that this is a 5ive-T and a bit heavier, do you still recommend those diff weights?
